How To Be An App Developer

Imagine developing the next big app from home. Having an app that generates income while you sleep, play, or just enjoy life is the best way to make income. Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley are both dead, yet both still make 10's of millions of dollars thanks to residual income. Now you can do the work one time and get paid for life as an app developer. The best part is, you don't have to write any code!

Your Duties

The easiest and fastes way to make money with an app is to develop it first, then get it in the Apple store. The secret to having a winning app, is to just copy what is hot and make it better. Make sense? No need to reinvent the wheel. I'm going to show you all the steps below.

Step 1
Go to toppappcharts.com. Here you will find the top free and top paid apps in the Apple store. Select one of the categories. For the example I'll be using today I am selecting the "Education" category.

Step 2
When you select the category, you are taken to a page that lists the apps in that category. They are ranked from #1 on down. What you want to look for is the graph on the right. You want to find an app that has come from no where and shot up to the top in popularity. Take a look at #3, Mathpix. It came from no where and landed as the #3 BEST app in Education. Let's examine this one closer.

Step 3
If you click on the Mathpix title, or the "details" link, you are taken to a page that tells you more about that app. You can see the chart again, as well as where it has ranked in various categories. As you can see, Mathpix hit #3 just yesterday (as of this writing) in the Education category. It hasn't ranked well in other categories, I would spend some time looking for a better app to copy, but this example will give you the basic concept of what you need to do.

Step 4
Now the next thing you need to do, is click on the app as if you want to buy it. That will take you to the Itunes store. On this page you can read the "Reviews" from other users. What you want to do is look for what others want to see in the app, or what others did or did not like about the app.

Step 5
Now all you have to do is take that "hot" app and copy it. Then add all the features you found in the reviews, and correct the things people didn't like. Make sense. Now your app should do better than #3.

I said at the beginning that you don't need to know anything about coding or making an app. So how do you get your app made? Go to a website like Odesk.com and hire someone to make the app for you. All you do is put the details of what you want made and post it. I set a budget of $1,500 for the creation of my app.

App developers will now bid on your app. Someone might say they will do it for $1,000. Whoever you feel comfortable with, hire them to do the job and you will soon have an app made to youir specifications for $1,500 or less.

How Much Can You Make?

You can sell the app or give it away for free. With free apps, you can sell things inside the app. If you offer something for $1 dollar and sell 100,000 units of it, you just made $100,000 on an investment of $1,500.

How To Get Started

In order to make money with your app, you need to get it in the Apple Store for download on all Iphones, Ipads, and Macs. Apple requires developers to pay an annual fee of $99 to put their app in the store. On top of this annual fee, Apple also take 30% of all the revenue it collects for you. You can enroll as a developer here.
